Summary

The Chicago office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking for a Marketing Intern to support the Client Development & Marketing Department. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,300 lawyers located in 16 offices in six countries.

 

The Marketing Intern will assist with a variety of business development and marketing functions, including experience tracking for sell sheets, research support, pitch audits, database maintenance, and event coordination. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with strong research and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a genuine interest in legal marketing and business development.

 

This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a law firm environment. Candidates should be willing to work 35 hours weekly starting June 8, 2026 through August 14, 2026 for 10 weeks. The role will be in-office based on business needs, additional program details to be shared.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing & Business Development
    • Track and update sell sheets to ensure attorneys have accurate, compelling materials.
    • Research business development opportunities and competitive positioning using Pitchbook, Lex Machina, and LinkedIn.
    • Analyze pitch outcomes to identify win/loss trends and improve positioning.
  • Data Management
    •  Maintain MINT and Credential databases, including deal entry, matter records, and experience tracking.
    • Support InterAction CRM by building mailing lists, updating contacts, and ensuring data accuracy.
    • Prepare Chambers ranking submissions highlighting attorney and practice group achievements.
    • Track civic engagement and pro bono initiatives.
  • Events and Communication
    • Coordinate events, including venue research, logistics, and sponsorship management.
    • Prepare Event Dossiers with attendee background information.
    • Create PowerPoint presentations and event marketing materials.
    • Support email communications and calendar coordination through InterAction and Outlook.
  • Provide exceptional administrative support to attorneys and staff while maintaining communication with attorneys, staff and manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to conduct research using various databases and online platforms
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and take initiative

ADA Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
  • Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
  • Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
  • Ability to carry light objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance

Pay Range

USD $20.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.

Pay Range Statement
