Summary

The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking to hire a Billing Intern to support the Finance & Accounting department. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,200 lawyers located in 16 offices in six countries. 

 

The ideal candidate will be in the process of pursuing an undergraduate degree and will assist the Billing team with a variety of duties. The Billing Intern will gain exposure to the Willkie’s internal platforms including our Elite system and billing in a corporate law firm. Candidates should be intellectually curious, possess an attention to detail and be able to maintain confidential information at all times. 

 

This a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a law firm environment. Candidates should be available to work a minimum of 15 hours a week during the school semester for a year-long internship.

Responsibilities

  • Support with several routine administrative tasks such as but not limited to:
    • Work with Billing team to file bills in document management system, iManage
    • Support Billing Manager and other members of the team with Ad hoc requests and project support
    • Assist with creating, completing and reviewing invoices, spreadsheets, reports and files
    • Analyze billing request to ensure accuracy and completion
  • Provide exceptional administrative support to attorneys and staff while maintaining communication with attorneys, staff and managers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be in the process of completing an associates, undergraduate degree or graduate degree
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel 
  • Ability to have strong organizational and time management while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build interpersonal relationships
  • Eager to learn and an interest in Accounting/Finance
  • Previous office experience a plus

ADA Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
  • Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
  • Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
  • Ability to carry light objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move objects up to 15lbs

Pay Range

USD $19.00 - USD $21.00 /Hr.

Pay Range Statement

The pay range for this role represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.

 

This position is a part-time hourly role and benefits eligibility will be more limited. Candidates should direct questions about benefits to the hiring manager for clarification as needed.
