Summary

The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking for a Desktop & Collaboration Technology Intern to support the End User Computing Support group in the Information Technology department. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,200 lawyers located in 15 offices in six countries. 

The Desktop & Collaboration Technology Intern will be responsible for focusing primarily on audiovisual technologies under the direction of the End User Computing Support. This internship will provide onsite technical assistance to a large and varied end user populations. The ideal candidate will need to have a basic understanding of Desktop Support functions and familiarity with meeting collaboration tools such as Zoom\MS Team\WebEx etc.

Responsibilities

Audiovisual & Collaboration Tasks:

  • Assist with connecting AV setups to ensure high-quality delivery of collaborative technologies such as Zoom, MS Teams, and WebEx.
  • Support multimedia, audiovisual, and videoconferencing event operations for business meetings for internal users and external clients, and assist end users with setup for conferences, ensuring that all equipment is operable.
  • Provide excellent customer service that includes communicating with end-users by phone, in person, and by email.
  • Perform daily inspections of the conference and board meeting rooms for quality assurance.

Desktop Tasks:

  • Assist with resolving hardware related issues such as replacing desktop\monitors\phones\ peripherals.
  • Move and set up computer equipment, phones, printers and mobile devices.
  • Assist with setting up computers in conference rooms for war room\trial prep\deal closing setups.
  • Assist with keeping inventory of all onsite, short\long term firm issued equipment including WFH setups.
  • Assist with shipping IT equipment as needed.
  • Assist with monitoring ZenDesk ticketing queue.
  • Assist with ongoing IT projects and initiatives as they arise.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be in the process of pursing a degree in computer science, computer information systems or a related discipline.
  • Familiar with audio visual and IT functions.
  • Experience with video conferencing platforms (software-based MS Teams, Zoom, WebEx, GoToMeeting, etc.).
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT).
  • Basic knowledge of video editing and graphics and encoding software, HTML, XML, and web publishing technologies and streaming a plus.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills required.
  • Ability to have strong organizational and time management while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build interpersonal relationships.
  • Previous office experience a plus.

  • Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
  • Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
  • Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
  • Ability to carry light [to moderate] objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move objects in excess of 25 lbs
  • Must be able to briskly walk throughout the firm delivering computer hardware.

Pay Range

USD $19.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.

Pay Range Statement
