Summary

The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking for a Records Intern to support the Records department. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,200 lawyers located in 15 offices in six countries.

 

The Records Intern will be a part of our summer internship program and will work closely with the Records department to assist with the maintenance, and management of both physical and digital records. Including but not limited to tasks such as filing, data entry, and utilizing various management platforms.

 

The ideal candidate will have an interest in library management or records retention and be able to maintain confidential information at all times. This a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a law firm environment. Candidates should be available to work in-person from June 2025 through August 2025.

 

Responsibilities

• Create and populate records in the firm’s information database
• Perform regular updates to records based on ongoing project work
• Take the lead on evaluating and researching workflow tracking systems
• Maintain adequate documentation according to established standards to support the records retention plan
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be in the process of completing an undergraduate or graduate degree
• Must have an interest in library management or record retention
• Ability to work from June through August
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to have strong organizational and time management while maintaining a strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build interpersonal relationships
• Strong computer skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous office experience a plus

ADA Requirements

• Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
• Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
• Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals

• Ability to carry light to moderate objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance.
• Must be able to lift, carry and move objects up to 30 lbs.

Pay Range

USD $19.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.

Pay Range Statement

The pay range for this role is $19 - $22 per hour and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location. This position is a part-time hourly role and benefits eligibility will be more limited. Candidates should direct questions about benefits to the hiring manager for clarification as needed.
