Summary

The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking to hire a Hospitality and Food Services Intern to be a part of our 2025 Summer Internship Program. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,200 lawyers located in 15 offices in six countries. 

 

The Hospitality and Food Services Intern will report to the Food Services Manager and Manager of Food Services Operations and collaborate with various other hospitality departments including Conference Services, Events/Marketing, Office Services, Reception and Talent Management. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, able to adapt to changing priorities, and pursing a degree in hospitality management, business management/ administrative or related field. Candidates must also be able to maintain confidential information at all times. Additionally, candidates should be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Support hospitality department heads and staff to ensure that all aspects of office meetings and events are best in class.
  • Assist with menu development, guest vendor management/relations, equipment maintenance, kitchen organization and distribution of food supplies under supervision of manager of food service operations.
  • Assist with the replenishment, inventory and distribution of pantries under the supervision of the Manager of Food Services. Operations.
  • Oversee and assist Food Services staff with the planning, setup, and breakdown of conference rooms for a variety of internal, client and special events with guest counts ranging from 10-200 attendees.
  • Provide ideas for strengthening hospitality excellence and five-star experiences within our operation.
  • Follow up with client requests as they arise.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Pursing a degree in hospitality management, business management/administration or a related field with an interest in hospitality management.
  • Prior hospitality, customer service, food service experience and knowledge is a plus.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Firm personnel.
  • Ability to pivot effectively when an established plan changes.
  • High sense of situational awareness and keen eye for attention to detail.
  • Exhibits a strong team oriented attitude with an understanding of how personal efforts contribute to the overall goals of the department and ultimately the firm.
  • Ability to utilize and navigate various types of software and technology (i.e. Web-based ordering platforms, MS Office Suite, etc.)
  • Highly motivated and energetic personality.

  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
  • Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment and food service supplies.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move objects up to 40 lbs.

Pay Range

USD $19.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.

Pay Range Statement

The pay range for this role is $19 - $22 per hour and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
