Summary

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking for a Transactional, Experience & Content Specialist to support the Business Development team. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,300 lawyers located in 16 offices in six countries. 

 

The Transactional, Experience & Content Specialist will support the firm's Business Development team in capturing, developing, and maintaining the firm's transactional experience content. This role will role work closely with lawyers and Business Development colleagues to collect deal information, draft clear and client-ready experience descriptions for use in pitches, proposals, and directory submissions, and ensure the accuracy and consistency of data across the firm's experience management platforms. The Specialist serves as a key liaison between lawyers and the Business Development team, leveraging both traditional research methods and AI-assisted tools to produce high-quality written content that effectively communicates the firm's capabilities in M&A, finance, capital markets, asset management, real estate, corporate, and other related transactional matters.

Responsibilities

Experience Data Management

  • Update and maintain transactional matter records in the firm’s experience database.
  • Collect deal details from lawyers, paralegals, and transaction management teams at key stages of a transaction.
  • Ensure accuracy of deal descriptions and matter types, related parties, deal values, industries, and lawyer roles.
  • Use AI tools to summarize, standardize, and classify transactional matters for consistency.
  • Lead process for league table submissions with coordinator support.

Content Writing & Editing

  • Draft and refine deal descriptions, representative experience lists, and transaction summaries for pitches and proposals.
  • Translate complex transactional work into concise, client focused language.
  • Use generative AI to:
    • Create first draft deal summaries.
    • Rewrite or enhance lawyer provided text.
    • Produce variations of content for different industries or client types.
    • Maintain updated transactional bios, experience lists, and content libraries.

Pitch & Proposal Support

  • Prepare tailored experience lists for RFPs, pitches, and client proposals.
  • Assist BD Managers with assembling pitch materials, including deal summaries.
  • Support Chambers, Legal 500, and other directory submissions by gathering and drafting transactional deal content in advance of the submission cycles.
  • Cross Functional Coordination.
  • Work with MarTech and Data teams to ensure experience data is captured accurately and efficiently.
  • Review Restrictions database carefully to ensure that matter descriptions comply with confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Communications teams to ensure consistency across digital and print materials.

Research & Insights

  • Conduct basic research on clients, industries, market trends, and counterparties to support BD initiatives.
  • Assist with tracking notable transactions, deal closings, and market developments relevant to the practice.

Qualifications

  • JD preferred or transactional paralegal experience with strong knowledge of transactional terminology, deal structures, and corporate processes.
  • 3-6 years of experience in a law firm, professional services, or content heavy environment.
  • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to summarize transactional matters clearly and accurately.
  • Experience with CRM or experience management systems preferred (e.g., Salesforce, Foundation).
  • Skilled using generative AI tools for drafting, summarizing, and content transformation.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with lawyers, BD colleagues, and administrative teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting transactional BD, pitches, or directory submissions.
  • Understanding of metadata, taxonomies, and structured content.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in developing deeper expertise in transactional BD and experience management.

ADA Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
  • Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
  • Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
  • Ability to carry light [to moderate] objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move objects [up to 15/20/25 lbs OR in excess of 25/30 lbs]

Pay Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.

The salary range for this role represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
